SparkPoint and Popsicle Games Volt In: Partnership forged for SparkPlay’s next crypto game

The two homegrown companies share their vision for the partnership.

Two Filipino companies have joined forces to develop the next crypto game under SparkPoint’s game platform, SparkPlay. SparkPoint Technologies Inc., represented by the CEO, Andy Agnas, CPA, and Pixelkit Inc., represented by the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Popsicle Games, James Chua, signed a Partnership Agreement on April 20 to formally ratify the collaboration on developing the crypto game for the SparkPlay platform. The said crypto game is slated to be officially released in the last quarter of 2021 with a scheduled beta launch on Q3 2021 as per SparkPoint’s roadmap.

The co-developed game will be the 4th game on SparkPlay’s portfolio of fun and exciting crypto games after Crypto Slicer, Crypto Burst, and Crypto Shooter which are already available and has thousands of downloads on the Google Play Store.

Getting candid with SparkPoint and Popsicle Games

In an e-meeting conducted on April 20 with the executives and teams behind the two companies, we asked for their insights and statements about the partnership.

James Chua has expressed his insights on the partnership between the companies, Chua said:

With the explosion of popularity of cryptocurrencies, the blockchain and NFTs, we in Popsicle Games, took the opportunity to work with SparkPoint in developing games that use blockchain technology. We are very much looking forward to the partnership and sharing our experience as game developers to create unique experiences that give players the opportunity to earn while playing our games.

As the two companies are both homegrown, Filipino-founded organizations, Chua shared his excitement in a statement:

We are most excited to explore the fledgling cryptocurrency space, most especially a cryptocurrency that is created by a Filipino startup in the blockchain industry. It is a pleasant surprise that a homegrown startup is exploring a relatively new industry. We are very much looking forward on taking this journey with them.

Meanwhile, Elijah Barba, the team leader of the SparkPlay team expressed also his excitement about the newly formed partnership. Barba said:

With our [SparkPoint] vision to fast-track the mainstream mass adoption of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, we would like to find a partner that aligns with our ideals. Our current roster of games has focused on easy-to-learn gameplay and intuitive game mechanics to cater to a wide range of players, and is the perfect mix for continued engagement and user retention. Enter Popsicle Games, a homegrown indie game development studio dedicated to making byte-sized, casual fun games for mobile. We are very excited about this partnership and we would like to keep building for the next generation of gaming.

About Pixelkit Inc. and Popsicle Games

Pixelkit, Inc. was incorporated in September 2013 by James Chua and Jed R. Cruz and began operations by offering web and app development services for businesses and single clients.
